Happy (Early) Constitution Day!

On September 17, 1787, the U.S. Constitution was signed by thirty-nine men who changed the course of history.

The Constitution sets up the structure of the government and contains a Bill of Rights which outlines our individual freedoms.

The first paragraph of the Constitution is known as the preamble.

As you watch the School House Rock video below, which recites the words of the preamble, feel free to sing along!

The first ten amendments (or additions) to the Constitution are known as the Bill of Rights.
To honor Constitution Day, today for your current event report you will summarize a news story relating to one of the first ten amendments.
